How the first visit works
No treatment on day one: just getting to know each other, play and lots of calm. Here's what to expect, step by step, and the right tips for every age.
The 4 moments of the first visit
Welcome and play
We wait for you in the playroom: the teeth rug, books and colours to break the ice.
5-10 minutes
Meet the flying chair
The child climbs up (even on mum's or dad's lap), tries the air jet, discovers the little mirror and the 'tooth counter'.
5 minutes
Counting the teeth
Dr. Giorgia looks at the teeth while playing, no rush and no scary tools. If the child isn't ready, we stop: that's fine.
5-10 minutes
Bravery Diploma
Tips for parents on hygiene and diet, answers to questions and the diploma for the little patient.
5 minutes
Every age, its own approach
Choose the age group to see what happens and how to prepare.
The age of play: everything becomes a story
The perfect age for a first visit. We turn every gesture into a game: the chair flies, the air tickles, the little mirror looks for 'sugar monsters'.
What happens in the clinic
- Free exploration of the room and the 'friendly' tools
- The child climbs on the chair alone or on a lap
- We count the teeth together, with the favourite cartoon on screen
- We teach brushing through play and hand out the Bravery Diploma
How to prepare at home
- Talk about it as an adventure: 'let's go count your teeth'
- Avoid the words 'hurt', 'fear', 'needle', even to reassure
- Play dentist at home with a soft toy and a toothbrush
- Read an illustrated book about the dentist together
